About Us
The Founder
For more than a decade, I have had the great fortune to work with thousands of nurses throughout California as a team development consultant and trainer at Kaiser Permanente. In my role as trainer, I conducted a wide variety of skill-building trainings and seminars that addressed issues integral to nursing, including Critical Thinking Skills, Preceptor Skills, Cultural Competency, Assertive Communication, Team Building and Conflict Resolution.
Discussions with nurses revealed their top priority challenges to include managing work flow, communication among team members and a lack of accountability, (both colleagues and managers). Our discussions—which always focused on solutions to daily challenges, inspired me to create SupportForNurses.com. I learned a lot from the diverse groups of nurses I trained. Their struggles and their voices provided an indispensible contribution to the content of this website. Along with their voices, my role as a psychotherapist and organizational development consultant inform the content of this website as well.
